Mark Hudgins has been associated with live theatre in the Hampton Roads area since 1973, and has acted, directed, costumed or produced more than 200 separate productions in virtually every local theatre, including the now defunct Tidewater Dinner Theatre, Omni Dinner Theatre, and The Norfolk Savoyards.

Chip Gallagher

Chip Gallagher is a published arranger and composer. He has served as director and/or musical director for Paramount’s Kings Dominion, Virginia Musical Theatre, the 19th Street Festhaus & Brewery, The Annabel Lee, First Night Virginia Beach and The Virginia Stage Company. Directing credits include Will Rogers Follies, Lucky Stiff, Aida, Legally Blonde, How To Succeed……., Chicago, Epic Proportions, All Shook Up, Swing, The Apple Tree, Chicago, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Christmas Carol, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Next To Normal, Jekyll & Hyde, & Catch Me If You Can. He has served as chair of the Musical Theatre Department at the Governor's School for the Arts for 30 years.

Linda Dyer
Executive Director and Development Director

Linda Dyer is a Norfolk native who has served as an Executive Director and Development Director in the non-profit sector for over 30 years. Bringing the community together as partners with the arts community is something she is very passtionate about since the arts builds relationships based on diversity and understanding.

As a life-long writer, she is also the author of popular books on etiquette and manners for children and young women. Her four popular Finishing Touches books and classes have been offered nationwide to over 60,000 students. She is frequently called upon to offer workshops and as a motivational speaker. She won a coveted mirror ball in this year's Hampton Roads Dancing with the Celebrity Stars, VMT’s signature fundraising event, and now is adding “very enthusiastic amateur dancer” to her resume!

She is passionate about the arts and arts education. She is a violinist and violist, performing with Symphonicity-The Symphony Orchestra of Virginia Beach for over 20 years and also maintains a private teaching studio. You’ll also see her on WHRO TV and radio as a frequent host. She serves on the Board of Directors of The Governor’s Schools for the Arts and Tidewater Opera Initiative as well as being very active in the local chapter of The Association of Fund Raising Professionals. Her daughters, Ashley and Elizabeth are her biggest motivators and inspiration.

Jeff Meredith
Founding Artistic Director Emeritus

Jeff Meredith is enjoying a successful professional career in the entertainment industry that has spanned 6 decades. He is a lyricist, producer, performer, director, scenic and costume designer, author and businessman. He began working as a performer in 1959 and continued until the early 1970's. At that time he shifted the focus of his career to directing. He directed at regional theatres throughout the country and served as director for Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia for 2 seasons. Some of his favorite productions were Equus, Ah, Wilderness, On Golden Pond, the Cherry Orchard, A Little Night Music and Carousel. He directed such luminaries as Bob Denver, Joan Bennett, Dana Andrews, Anne Francis and Richard Roundtree, among many others. The 1980's brought yet another career focus into arts administration when he was employed by the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center. He founded his company, Meredith Marketing whose roster of clients included American Ballet Theatre, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Ahmenson Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music and Joffrey Ballet. He holds a BFA in Theatre and a MFA in Directing. He is a member of Actors' Equity Association and Society of Directors & Choreographers. His poudest accomplishment is founding Virginia Musical Theatre in 1991.

Jeremy Bustin
Marketing Director

Jeremy Bustin specializes in digital communications and supports our marketing and publicity efforts, and is also a casual performer on our stage. He is a PR and Communications Manager at GE Power and also serves as an adjunct facilitator for The George Washington University’s Strategic Public Relations graduate program. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from The George Washington University.
